We were able to talk for about 45 minutes today and he said that everything went great! Well... ok, not the getting shots part (more on that later), but the rest of it went great.
He was able to go to the orphanage and spend just a few minutes with the kids (he spent 3 hours waiting for the driver to come get him and then about 10 minutes at the orphanage!), but he took a book I made them that has photos of us, our house, the kids, Wilson, our playground and what our life will be like. He said he read it once to them and he pointed out "Wilson" in the book. The second time through, Malco said "Wilson" and pointed to Wilson. If you know us, you know this makes us super happy, because Wilson really is our first baby and lots of kids from the developing world do not like dogs. Hopefully, the book with help a little with the transition.

Anyway, he said that although his time was short, he was so glad to see the kids and he really loved spending the time with them. They knew he was their Papa! He said Malco was really engaged and enjoyed his time, but Winner didn't say too much. He does think they are the ages on their birth certificates, so that is really great news!
The next day, he "got to" go with the kids to their mandatory medical appointment. Again, they all sat for several hours in the waiting room with the kids eating bread and drinking sodas. Then it was time for shots.... Poor little Winner screamed and screamed. She said "PAPA" and looked at Andy waiting for him to save her. Of course, he couldn't and after the shots he tried to hold her and she would have nothing to do with him! He said he will never take the kids for shots again. Ha!
Overall, Andy is doing great- he's exhausted, as jet lag will do to you, but he is so happy he got to see the kids. I asked him if he felt like he was just visiting some kids or if he felt like they were his kids and he said this, "I felt like the last 2 years of hard work and money were transformed into 2 beautiful children!" Wow. So excited about this!
In other news, please pray! Tomorrow is our embassy appointment and the birth mother will (Lord willing!) be attending. It is important that she comes because the issuing of the kids visas is dependent on her cooperation with the investigation that the US Embassy has to do. Please pray for the appointment to go well, for the birth mom to show up, and for the visas to be issued in a speedy manner! Also pray for us as we decide when I should go back. There are the holidays (and the business closures that go with them) to consider as well as our hearts. Now that Andy has met the kids, he is ready for me to just get there to bring them home, but we need to do the right thing here.... So prayers are appreciated!
