Anyway, here is where we are at and here is what we still need:
CONA
Passports (for kids)
Medicals
Set up embassy appointment
Baldwin's fill out more massive amounts of paperwork (this is not holding us up in any way, just a step we need to take)
So there you have it, two more docs crossed off. The CONA does exist, we just haven't seen it yet. Once we do, this page will be a special place because I will share our children's photos and their full Baldwin names because once we get the CONA, we are the parents. I hope I get to do that before we leave for our vacation on Saturday. If not, Lord willing when we get back!
Prayers are appreciated! The biggest thing right now is the passports, if they are just being applied for, we are at about 4-8 weeks before we can set up the embassy appointment. The good news is, as soon as they come in, we can set up the appointment and head out the door!
In other amazingly, wonderful, unbelievable good news...we just found out that my employer (Compassion International) just started an adoption reimbursement benefit which gives up to $5000 per child to families who work at CI and are adopting. We should be able to collect $4k (total) upfront which will just about cover our travel expenses. God is soooooooooo GOOD! As a side note, if you are considering adoption but don't think you can afford it, I cannot express enough how God CAN afford it and how he will open doors and windows at just the right time so that you can afford it, too!
