Two of our friends who have also adopted met us at the airport and it was such a joy to have them there. It's so fun to see the people that God has put in your path to encourage you, support you, and be there when you land in your home state for the first time.
Mark & Becky, Danielle (Doug) and kids- you guys both truly inspired us to begin this journey and how fun that you were there as we leave the phase of 'getting the kids' and enter the phase of 'raising the kids.'
On the way home last night we went to Chipotle, which, as expected, the kids loved as much as us. It was so fun for it to just be 'us'. We've been together with people (which has been great) our whole time as a family and it was really evident that even the kids understood that we were settling in as a family. They were so happy the whole way home, singing made up songs and songs in Lingala and worship songs. ("Open the floodgates of fleaven" is one of our favorites :). We got home, gave them a little tour, a nice hot bath and then went right to bed. We were all in bed by 7:30 and it was wonderful!
